28.03.2022 news Terrorists Storm 6 Niger Villages, Displace Inhabitants

Bandits stormed about six villages in the Munya Local Government Area of Niger State on Sunday, pillaging shops and food stores.

A source revealed that the villages attacked are Chibani, Dandaudu, Fuka, Dandaudu, Injita, Kuchi, and Mararaba.

FIJ gathered that the villagers have left their homes for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp located at the Central Primary School, Gwada, Shiroro Local Government Area.

This came barely a week after Abubakar Sani Bello, the Governor of Niger State, visited the IDPs in Gwada, assuring them of returning home in no distant time.

Similarly, terrorists kidnapped a large number of people, including Father Leo Raphael Ozigi, the parish priest of St Mary’s Catholic Church, Sarkin Pawa, Munya LGA, on Sunday.

Wasiu Abiodun, the Niger State police spokesman did not respond to calls when contacted. At press time, he had not responded to a text sent to him.
