Jason Marshall, Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Yellow Card Financial, a leading cryptocurrency trading platform, has blasted the Nigerian police for “harassing and robbing” employees of the company.

Expressing dissatisfaction via his Twitter handle, @_JasonMarshall, on Monday, he said, “I really wish the Nigerian police would stop harassing and robbing our employees.”

He, however, was reluctant to give details of encounters between the police and the employees as he was “afraid” of repercussions.

“I am too scared as I am afraid any official complaints from me would result in a revocation of my visa, punitive measures against our business and dangerous personal retaliation against our employees,” he tweeted in response to another user’s suggestion to file a complaint. “I probably should delete my tweets on this matter.”

Yellow Card Financial exists in 18 African countries, and entered the Nigerian market in 2018.

However, with all of Marshall’s experience working in Africa, he said the Nigerian police happened to be the worst he had ever experienced.

“There are corrupt police across the globe. But I have worked in international business for many years. We currently have employees in 18 African countries. The problem with Nigerian police is far worse than anything I have ever dealt with. Far worse,” he tweeted.

FIJ earlier reported how the Nigerian police robbed Nigerians of over N2.4 million in December, 2021.
