Oluebube Obioma, an Enugu resident, has narrated how Konga, an e-commerce company in Nigeria, refused to deliver her order despite receiving payment.

Obioma told FIJ that she paid for a pair of Bohemian sandals on November 15 but Konga had not delivered them 14 days after.

“On the 15th of November, I ordered a pair of sandals on Konga. According to the policy, the order should get to the person who ordered for the item in seven days. I paid for my item as I made the order and I got a proof of payment too. But the tracking number was not working,” Obioma told FIJ on Tuesday.

“Every time I checked my order using the tracking number, it was static. It has stayed in the same place in Lagos all this while. The item has not moved to its supposed destination. When I contacted Konga on the 7th day, I got a generic message promising me that I would receive my item on the next day. I didn’t get it still.

“So, on November 25, I sent a mail to Konga and informed the company that I could take legal action against it. Yesterday (November 28), a representative sent a response to me through email. The representative promised that they would do something about it soon. They only said that they would reach out to the logistics department.”

Obioma told FIJ that the representative did not give a specific day her order would be delivered still. They only promised to make the overdue delivery in the shortest time possible.

“I am deeply sorry to read about the extreme delay experienced with the delivery of your order. However, I have notified our logistics team to hasten the delivery of your order to you. Rest assured your order will be delivered within the shortest time frame possible,” a representative wrote on Monday.

FIJ contacted Konga via its live chat on Twitter, and Odion, a representative of the organisation, said, “I completely understand no amount of apology will suffice for the delay in the delivery of this order. A mail has been sent to the delivery team to hasten the delivery. Kindly be patient as the order will be delivered as soon as possible. Please bear with us.”

When FIJ asked how long Obioma’s delivery would take, Konga’s representative could not say.

“Be assured it will be delivered to the customer,” he said.
