Following the death of Timothy Oludare Adegoke, an Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife, MBA student, FIJ can confirm that Hilton Hotel and Resort, where he had allegedly died, has been shut down.
The Abuja-based chartered accountant had checked into the hotel on November 5 before he subsequently became unreachable to family members and friends.

He was declared missing on November 7 and after a series of investigation carried out by men of the Osun State Police Command, he was eventually found dead at a location not too far from the hotel on November 15.
Also, in the course of its investigation, the police arrested Rahmon Adedoyin, the owner of the hotel and six of its staff members.
“I can confirm to you that the hotel has been shut down yesterday, November 18,” a source, who is a resident of Ife, told FIJ.

“What we however don’t know is whether it was shut down by the police because of the ongoing investigation or whether it was a decision reached by the management,” the source further said.
FIJ made several calls to Yemisi Opalola, the police spokesman for Osun State, to get further information on the development but they were unanswered. The text message that was sent to her was also not responded to.
