28.04.2022 Featured Meet ICPC’s 12 Most Wanted Persons in April

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has declared 12 Nigerians wanted in April.

In a bulletin released on Thursday, the commission said the suspects are wanted for various criminal activities including money laundering and fraud.

The wanted persons include a former prison officer, former public servants and the daughter of a former member of the Federal House of Representatives.

CHRISTOPHER O. UGWUBIJO

Christopher Oluchukwu Ugwubijo is wanted by the commission for extorting money from job seekers at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The 57-year-old public servant was once an officer in the NSCDC before committing the fraud.

SAHABO A. AHIWA

Sahabo Ahiwa

Sahabo Abubakar Ahiwa allegedly impersonated a staff member at the president’s office. The Adamawa indigene subsequently ‘used his position inside the presidential villa’ to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians of millions of naira.

OKWUENU S. HILARY

Okwuenu Sunday Hilary altered and forged certificates at the NSCDC. He was once an officer with the agency. He is wanted by the commission for forgery and alteration.

LAWRENCE M. AYODELE

Lawrence Majekodunmi Ayodele

Lawrence Majekodunmi Ayodele is wanted by the ICPC for alleged financial fraud, executive recklessness, embezzlement, and gross abuse of office. ICPC made this known in August 2019.

Ayodele was the previous Chief Medical Director at the Federal Medical Centre, Ido-Ekiti, Ekiti State. He has also been accused of misusing the powers vested on him during his tenure as the head of the hospital.

TONY AIYEJINA

Tony Aiyejina

Tony Aiyejina impersonated Mallam Adamu Adamu, the current minister of education. Aiyejina used the minister’s office to defraud a victim of N2.5m.

Aiyejina initially demanded for N10m in exchange for a position in a federal parastatal. The victim later sent him N2.5 million ‘as processing fee’ for the appointment promised.

GLADYS AGINWA

Gladys Aginwa

Gladys Aginwa, the Managing Director of Smiles and Light Limited, is also wanted by the commission for fraud. Aginwa was a resident of Magodo in Lagos when ICPC declared her wanted alongside one Dennis Ale in 2018.

DAVID AKILE

David Akile
David Akile

David Akile, a 41-year-old resident of Abuja, was recently declared a fraudster by the ICPC and he has been wanted ever since.

IDOWU P. ADEBOLA

Idowu Paul Adebola is wanted for forgery. Adebola helped numerous persons to obtain fake travel documents and credentials.

SALEH A. MOHAMMED

Saleh Mohammed

Saleh Amshi Mohammed is wanted by the ICPC for official malfeasance and abuse of power.

Saleh was a Nigeria Correctional Service official before he committed the offence and went into hiding.

AMINU E. SHEHU 

ICPC declared Aminu Emeje Shehu wanted for issuing dud cheques to associates who thought she ran a legitimate business. Emeje Shehu has evaded the authorities ever since.

DEBORAH I. AGBONAYINMA

Deborah Agbonayinma

Deborah Ighiwiyisi Agbonayinma is wanted by the ICPC for providing fake degree certificates to gain employment with the National Pension Commission. ICPC declared her wanted in May 2021. She is presently still at large.

Agbonayinma is the daughter of Ehionzuwa Johnson Agbonayinma, a former member of the House of Representatives. Agbonayinma represented Egor/Ikpoba-Okha constituency in Edo State between 2015 and 2019. He was also the Ad-hoc Committee Chairman on the Pension Commission in the house.

MUHAMMADU SAGIRU UMAR

Sagiru Umar

ICPC has been searching for Muhammadu Sagiru Umar since 2017. He was working with the Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board in Lafia, Nasarawa State, when he defrauded prospective pilgrims.

Umar swindled unsuspecting pilgrims to the tune of N11,550,000 in 2015, when they tried to pay for pilgrimage.
