Titilope Olusiyi, a fashion designer, has accused Ifunaya Izundu, owner of ‘Boldcurve’, an Instagram clothing store, of defrauding her of N30,000, after she was sold a cloth inferior to what she ordered.
Olusiyi told FIJ that she ordered a Fashion Nova dress, worth N30,000 from Izundu’s ‘Boldcurve‘ on March 9, but upon delivery, a worn cloth, totally different from what she ordered, was what she was sent.
“When I received the dress, I noticed it was worn. I also noticed that it was totally different from the brand I ordered,” Olusiyi said.
Olusiyi said she immediately lodged a complaint to Izundu but did not get a refund.
“I ordered a Fashion Nova dress for my birthday but Izundu delivered an inferior brand. She told me delivery would take 10 to 15 working days but the dress, despite being inferior and worn, was delivered a day after the date I needed it,” said Olusiyi.
“When I opened the package, I was welcomed by a strong scent of perfume. It was different from the usual smell of new clothes. I called the attention of someone who was with me then to it and she confirmed that it was the smell of someone else’s perfume.
“I also looked through the cloth and saw that the wrist was dirty. I turned it inside out and saw that the under arm was whitish from deodorant and sweat.”
While lodging her complaints to Izundu, the clothing line owner accused the fashion designer of trying to ruin her brand and at first, asked her to return the cloth. However, Izundu later changed her mind, refusing to take the dress back.
“Rather than take responsibility, she said the reason I was angry was because I missed my birthday shoot, and not because the cloth was bad. She later said she would not take back the cloth. She also made it clear that she won’t refund me,” she said.

“When I showed her evidence of the worn dress, she accused me of pouring bleach on the armpit and that I just wanted to ruin her business. Now, when you pour bleach on a dress, that is not the colour effect you get. She refused to exchange the dress or refund me.”
When FIJ contacted Izundu, she said, “I do not know any Titilope.” When she was asked if she owns ‘Boldcurve’, she answered in the affirmative.
