25.03.2022 Featured Bandits Kill 26, Kidnap Scores in Fresh Kaduna Attack

Bandits have raided eight villages in the Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing 26 people and abducting an unspecified number of people.

The criminals also rustled cattle worth millions of naira during the coordinated attacks on Thursday evening. A security source said the attacked villages are Bare Bare, Dillalai, Doka Alhaji Yau, Fatika, Zango Tama, Ungwan Bako and Kaya.

According to him, no life was lost in Ungwan Bako, but 15 persons were killed in Dillalai village, four each in Bare Bare and Zango Tama. “At least one person was killed in each of Kaya Alhaji Yau and Fatika,” he said.

At press time, the exact number of the kidnapped persons from the affected villages was not certain, the source told FIJ, adding that those killed were buried on Friday morning.

When contacted, Muhammad Jalige, the Kaduna State Police spokesperson, told FIJ he would make enquires about the attacks.
