Overland Airways has refunded N161,000 to Temitope Eyitayo-Daniel, an Ibadan-based administrative assistant.

Eyitayo-Daniel told FIJ on Monday that the bulk of the N165,000 he paid to the airline for flight bookings had been refunded.

“Overland refunded it on Friday,” he said. “They refunded N161,000 instead of N165,000, but it is still fine. At least they refunded the bulk of our payment. We just got the credit alert.”

On May 10, FIJ reported how Overland Airways refused to refund his money after he cancelled two flight bookings in December 2021.

Eyitayo-Daniel had told FIJ that he was forced to cancel the flight after the airline’s decision to delay its take-off twice made his boss miss an important meeting.

“When we got to the airport in the morning, Overland first rescheduled the morning flight my boss and his associate were supposed to board to 10 am. After a while, the airline rescheduled the flight a second time to noon,” he said.

“The initial plan was for my boss and his partner to go to Abuja that morning, attend the meeting and return to Ibadan immediately after the meeting was over.

“By the time Overland rescheduled the flight a second time, the purpose for which the flight was booked had been defeated. My boss had already missed the meeting and there was no way his travel with the airline by noon would make any sense.”

A refund was due them, but Overland Airways withheld the money till Friday.
